Free Cylinder On Holi: Holi is now upon us. The brightness of the markets has increased and preparations for the festival have begun in homes. At such times, the expense of cooking gas puts pressure on the budget of many families. In view of this, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh governments have taken a relief decision. In Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that on big festivals like Holi and Diwali, eligible families will be given financial assistance for gas cylinders.

At the same time, the UP government has announced to provide free cylinders to Ujjwala gas connection holders. The aim of the governments of both the states is that the kitchen of any needy house should not remain empty during the festival. Know whether you will get a free cylinder or not.

Who will get the benefit of free cylinder?

This scheme will be implemented twice a year in Delhi. On Holi and Diwali, an amount of Rs 853 will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The government will not provide cylinders directly. Rather, a fixed amount will be sent so that families can fill the gas at their convenience. A budget of about Rs 242 crore has been approved for this.

It is estimated that about 17.5 lakh ration card holding families will join this scheme. The special thing is that the houses which have pipeline gas connection. They will also be given equal financial assistance. This will provide equal relief to urban and low income group families.

The UP government has also taken a big decision keeping the festival in mind. Free cylinders will be given to eligible families getting gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme in the state. Rural and economically weaker sections will benefit directly from this. The government says that this step is important towards empowering women and reducing kitchen expenses.

Which people will not get the benefit?

Like every scheme, eligibility in this too is fixed. Only valid ration card holding families in Delhi will be eligible for this assistance. People who are not included in the economically weaker section or who do not have a ration card. He will be left out of this benefit. Government employees and retired government employees will also not come under the scope of this scheme. In UP also, only Ujjwala connection holders will get the benefit. If you live in Delhi then ration card is necessary, whereas in UP your name is required to be named in Ujjwala scheme.
