After the Russia-Ukraine Jung called the “War of Modi”, US President Donald Trump’s trade advisor Peter Navaro has intensified the attack on India. He has claimed that American tariffs on New Delhi are not only about ‘unfair trade’, but are also reducing Moscow’s financial lifeline. He argued that the money from India’s oil purchase goes directly to the War Fund of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He posted a racial comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s saffron clothes on X and made racial comments on him. Below the picture he wrote, “The path of peace in Ukraine goes through New Delhi.”
‘India uses dollar to buy cheap Russian oil’
Explaining the Indo-Russian oil mathematics, Trump’s trade adviser said, “American consumers buy Indian goods, while India excludes American exports through high tariffs and non-tariff barriers. India uses our dollars to buy concessional Russian crude oil.”
Navaro said that Russian oil was less than 1 percent of India’s imports before Russia attacked Ukraine and now it is more than 30 percent, while New Delhi imports more than 1.5 million barrels per day.

He claimed, “This boom is not inspired by domestic demand. It is operated by Indian profiteers and is paying additional prices of bloodshed and destruction in Ukraine. India’s oil lobby has converted the world’s largest democracy to a huge refining center for Kremalin and oil money laundering.”
Navaro said that the situation changed in 2022
Navaro said that historically India was not a major importer of Russian crude oil and was more dependent on the middle East, but in 2022 the situation changed, when Russia invaded Ukraine and a group of seven countries imposed a $ 60 per barrel limit to limit the Kremlin oil revenue. US officials have admitted that India’s ability to buy concessional goods was a feature of this system. Navaro claimed that Indian refiners buy cheap Russian oil and process it. Then fuel exports to Europe, Africa and Asia.
