The petition has been filed by a charitable trust, the United Ahir Regiment Morcha, its trustees and some persons claiming to be the relatives of the soldiers martyred in the war. The petitioners allege that history has been depicted in a wrong manner in the film. He says that the film presents Major Shaitan Singh as the sole hero by giving him the fictitious name Bhati, while the collective bravery of 120 Ahir soldiers in the battle of Rezang La has been ignored.

Along with this, there has also been a violation of Section 356 of BNSS, under which there is a provision for action against insulting the dignity of dead persons.
