A PIL (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the India-Pakistan match, demanding the cancellation of the Indo-Pak T20 cricket match to be held in Dubai on 14 September in the Asia Cup. This petition has been filed on behalf of four law students under the leadership of Urvashi Jain. According to the petitioners, the cricket match with Pakistan plays with national dignity and public sentiment after Pahalgam terror attack and operation vermilion.
‘Cricket not more than the sacrifice of citizens’
According to the petition of the bar and bench, cricket cannot be placed above national interest, life of citizens or sacrifices of armed personnel. The petitioners have also demanded instructions for the implementation of the National Sports Administration Act 2025. This petition has been filed through advocates Sneha Rani, Abhishek Verma and Mohammad Anas Chaudhary.
Appeal to Supreme Court to intervene
The petition appealed to the Supreme Court to intervene. This high-profile match, often called the biggest match of world cricket. The focal point of the Asia Cup remains. However, due to raising national security and emotional concerns in the PIL, this match is now cloudy of uncertainty. The case is expected to be heard before the date scheduled by the Supreme Court.
India crushed UAE by 9 wickets
Meanwhile, India expressed its intentions on the field with the beginning of saving its title. India crushed the host United Arab Emirates by 9 wickets at Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday in their first match. Left -arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav put a magical spell of 4/7, while all -rounder Shivam Dubey took 3/4 wickets. The UAE collapsed for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored 30 runs in 16 balls, Shubman Gill scored 20 runs in 9 balls and captain Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten on 7 runs. India won in just 4.3 overs.
