The Pitru Paksha or Shraddha Paksha runs from Pratipada of Ashwin Krishna Paksha to Amavasya Tithi. This is the time to remember the ancestors and pay homage to them. It is believed that at the time of Pitru Paksha, the dead ancestors come to the earth to meet their family members and return to the Pitra Amavasya.

At the time of Pitru Paksha, Pindadan, Shraddha and Tarpan are performed to get peace and blessings of the soul of the ancestors. At this time, many rules have to be followed regarding food and drink, no demand is done and many things are forbidden.

With this, care should be taken at the time of Pitra Paksha, especially pregnant women. If pregnant women do not take care of these things, then it can also adversely affect the baby in the womb. Therefore, know what pregnant women should not do in 15 days of Pitru Paksha.

At the time of Pitru Paksha, pregnant woman should not consume tamasic food (non-vegetarian, garlic-onion and more fried roast). During this time, take satvic food only. This will keep both mind and body peace, which is also good for the child.

Whatever food is made for the ancestors in the Shraddha of Pitru Paksha, it should not avoid touching the pregnant woman nor should it eat. Pind should not go to places with donations during pregnancy.

This year, in 2025, the first and last day of Pitra Paksha will also be eclipsed. In such a situation, pregnant women need to be very careful. Get out of the house at the time of eclipse, apply ocher on the stomach and avoid the use of sharp things. Please tell that on the first day of Pitru Paksha, full lunar eclipse and the last day i.e. Sarva Pitra Amavasya will take solar eclipse.
