This pit lasts for some time. This condition is usually called edema or lymphedema, but it also provides signals of other serious diseases like heart disease, kidney disease or skin related problems. Along with this, symptoms like swelling, heaviness or pain in the feet can also be seen. If these symptoms appear again and again, the doctor should be contacted immediately.

The signal of these diseases is the sinking of the skin

Edima (edema): Edema occurs when extra fluid accumulates in the body’s tissue, which causes swelling. It forms a pit on pressing inflammation, which is called pitting edema. Its connection is with heart, kidney or liver problems. According to Dr. Ramesh Sharma, Pitting Edema reveals heart failure, chronic kidney disease or liver cirrhosis. If the pit remains for 2-3 seconds on pressing the skin of the foot, then it is a serious sign. The patient should immediately conduct blood tests and imaging studies.

Lymphedema: The lymphedma occurs when the lymphatic system does not function properly. This makes the lymph fluid accumulate in the legs. This condition can occur due to cancer treatment, surgery or congenital reasons. The skin may be thick and sunk in the lymphma. Skin may look like foam in the lymphma, as the lymph accumulates under the fluid skin. It is usually more in one leg. If there is no timely treatment, it can cause permanent damage.

If the clot reaches the lungs, it can be fatal. This condition is common among those who sit for a long time. Such people may immediately need ultrasound and blood thinner.
