The beginning of placements this year from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has been very good. On the very first day, students received a total of eight international offers, while 428 domestic offers were also received. Due to this there is an atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm in the campus. The institute says that the number of offers recorded so far this year is more than last year.
As soon as the campus placement process started on Monday morning, there was tremendous enthusiasm among the students. Everyone was excited to test their preparation and showcase their talent in front of the best companies. From pre-placement talks to interview rounds, the entire campus was filled with new expectations and achievements throughout the day.
Big companies reached campus on the first day
On the very first day of the placement drive at IIT Roorkee, many renowned national and international companies arrived to look for talent. These included big companies like Amazon, American Express, Arkana, Bajaj Auto, BEL, BPCL, Center for Development of Telematics, DE Shaw, Databricks, Eternal (Zomato), Flipkart, Google, Harness, HPCL, Mastercard, Meesho, Microsoft, NK Securities Research, Oracle, SLB Engineering and Software, Texas Instruments.
These companies interviewed students from Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Semiconductor, Data Science and new emerging technology. Many students also received on-the-spot pre-placement offers.
Foreign offers increased the shine
What makes the beginning of this year even more special is the fact that eight students have received international offers on the first day of campus placements. Such offers usually come from global tech companies offering packages worth crores. This has not only boosted the morale of the students of the institute, but also strengthened the reputation of IIT Roorkee in the industry.
Indian companies’ confidence in the country also increased
This time the number of domestic offers reaching 428 shows that the confidence of the country’s big tech and core engineering companies on the students of IIT Roorkee is continuously increasing. Many Indian companies offer attractive packages and career growth positions to students.
For many students, this was their first big interview experience, but their preparation and hard work impressed the companies. The interview panel also said that along with technical knowledge, the students have a strong understanding of problem solving, communication and innovation.
Placement process will continue till December 15
The placement drive of IIT Roorkee will continue till December 15. It is expected that the number of offers will increase further in the coming days. Interviews of students from different batches, departments and domains will be held in the next few days.
