Players of this country will not play in IPL 2026? Know what BCCI said on the growing controversy

Amidst the increasing political tension between India and Bangladesh, it is finding difficult for Bangladeshi players to play in the Indian Premier League. Recently such news has gained momentum. Especially Mustafizur Rahman has become the center of discussion, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 9.20 crore. Now BCCI has broken its silence on Bangladeshi players playing in IPL.

BCCI sources have said that no such order has come from the Government of India, in which it has been said to stop Bangladeshi players from playing in IPL. The signing of Mustafizur Rahman by Kolkata Knight Riders had become a matter of debate amid violent incidents against minorities in Bangladesh.

A source quoted by news agency IANS said, “Please do not get into this matter. It is not in our hands. We have not received any order from the government in which it has been said that Bangladeshi players will be stopped from playing in the IPL. Can’t say much on this right now.”

Mustafizur Rahman has played 60 matches in his IPL career and taken 65 wickets and his economy rate is 8.13. He made his IPL debut in 2016 while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Joined Mumbai Indians in 2018, played for Rajasthan Royals in 2021, after that Rahman was a part of Delhi Capitals team for 2 seasons. He represented Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024, but last season he again joined the Delhi Capitals team as an injury replacement for Australian batsman Jake Fraser McGurk.
