G-7 Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a Cyprus tour from where he will leave to attend the G-7 summit to be held in Kananaskis. This is the first foreign tour of PM Modi after Operation Sindoor, where he will interact with the big leaders of the world.
US President Donald Trump, Italian PM Georgia Meloni and French President Emmanuel Macron have reached Canada to attend the G-7 summit.
PM Modi may meet Donald Trump
On the call of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, PM Modi will attend the G-7 summit on 16-17 June. During this time he can also meet Donald Trump. However, no confirmation has been made by the Ministry of External Affairs. During Operation Sindoor, Donald Trump had given a credit to seize himself, claiming mediation between India and Pakistan. At the same time, India had rejected the intervention of any third party.
There may be talk on the issue of weapons and technology transfer
In such a situation, on a global stage like G-7, PM Modi can put India’s side in front of the world with a ceasefire. Apart from this, PM Modi can clear India’s stand in front of Trump during the meeting, because India never accepts any third party mediation on the issue of Kashmir. India has made it clear that Kashmir is not an issue of dialogue and now if it comes to Pakistan, only PoK will be on the issue.
The stage of the G-7 summit will be a chance to tell the world about India’s technical and military capability during operation vermilion. Apart from this, PM Modi may also have talks with global leaders on the issue of weapons and technology transfer in future.
