Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to US President Donald Trump for the first time on Wednesday (June 18, 2025) after Operation Sindoor. In a 35 -minute phone call, PM Modi took a tough stance on terrorism and made it clear to Donald Trump that India will not resort to any trade deal nor will there be any agreement on terrorism.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that in the conversation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Donald Trump that India will respond to the bullet of India and Operation vermilion against terrorism is still going on. In the fight for terrorism, PM Modi clearly told Trump that India will not resort to any trade deal and India’s fight against terrorism will continue.
Trump has been claiming to be ceasefire in India and Pakistan
After the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, on the night of 6 May, India launched Operation Sindoor and destroyed the terrorist bases in Pakistan. After this, on May 7, Pakistan tried unsuccessfully to attack India’s military bases and then India also retaliated. After this small fight which lasted 3-4 days, both countries decided to ceasefire on the insistence of Pakistan. However, Donald Trump was repeatedly seen saying that he got India and Pakistan mediate for ceasefire.
Trump invited PM Modi to come to America
PM Modi went to Canada to attend the G-7 conference on 17 June, here he was scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of his conference. However, Trump returned before the conference was completed, due to which this meeting could not be held, so he has now invited PM Modi to come to America.
