On Sunday, many people were killed and many others were injured in a stampede during a huge crowd of devotees on the route leading to Mansa Devi temple in Uttarakhand. After the accident, there was chaos in the entire area. The injured were immediately admitted to the nearest hospitals, where their treatment is going on.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep condolences over the accident, saying, “I am extremely saddened by the loss of life due to a stampede on the Mansa Devi temple route of Haridwar. I express condolences to those who have lost my loved ones. I am wished to be healthy soon, this is the wish. The local administration is wishing all possible help to the affected people.” After the incident, the Uttarakhand administration has ordered an inquiry and a review of the security system has also been started. During the pilgrimage season, a large number of devotees arrive at the Mansa Devi temple to visit, which often leads to a huge crowd.
Did SSP of Haridwar say Pramendra Singh Doval?
SSP of Haridwar, Pramendra Singh Doval informed about the accident that about 35 injured have been rushed to the hospital, out of which 6 were confirmed the death, while later another person died. Initial investigation has revealed that rumors of current on the stairs below the temple route spread about 100 meters below the temple route, which created a stampede situation. The police is conducting a detailed investigation into the case.
How many people have died so far?
So far 7 people have died and many others have been injured in this incident. Immediately after the accident, the local administration and police started the relief and rescue operations while taking the front. The injured have been immediately admitted to nearby hospitals.
