PM Narendra Modi in Cyprus: Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Cyprus President Nicos Christodolidase jointly addressed the media. India and Cyprus have a friendly in the circumstances nor are it tied to boundaries. Extensive discussion between India and Cyprus about bilateral relations
PM Modi said, “After a long gap for two decades, an Indian Prime Minister is going to Cyprus.
He further said, “To give a strategic direction to our partnership, we will create a solid roadmap for the next five years. To strengthen defense and security cooperation, the defense industry will be emphasized under the bilateral ‘Defense Co-operation Program’. A separate dialogue will be launched on cyber and maritime security.”

He said, “We are grateful to the continuous support of Cyprus in India’s fight against cross-border terrorism. For the prevention of smuggling of terrorism, drugs and arms, the real-time information exchange will be prepared between our agency. Mechanism will be prepared. We are excited to see the spread of yoga and Ayurveda in Cyprus. The emphasis will be on creating direct air connectivity. We have decided to work soon to complete the mobility agreement.

Prime Minister Modi said, “There is a similarity in our thoughts about the reforms required to make the UN contemporary. We are grateful to support India’s permanent membership in the Security Council on behalf of Cyprus.
He said, “Both of us believe that this is not an era of war, solution from dialogue and restoration of stability, it is a call of humanity. We also talked about increasing connectivity with the Mediterranean Sea region. We agree that India-Midil East-Europe Economic Corridor will pave the way for peace and prosperity in the region.”
