China will go to Tilamila after seeing the reception of PM Modi
However, despite being very tension in the relations between India and Maldives for some time, PM Modi will get to see such reception and hospitality in the Maldives. Actually, China is engaged in maintaining its impact by reducing India’s influence on Maldives. Two years ago, in 2023, Mozu Mujju came to power with a majority in power with the promise of Maldives ‘policy of Bharat I’ and ending India’s influence on Maldives.
After Maldives came to power, Mohammad Mujju traveled to his official visit to Beijing, the capital of China instead of New Delhi. During the visit, China entered into an agreement with Maldives for non-fatal weapons without any cost and also agreed to train the soldiers of Maldives.
But today after two years, India and Maldives are seen returning to track again. With this, China is seen to be shattering its desire to establish its influence in the Indian Ocean through the Maldives.
