Gorakhpur News: On Friday, 20 June 2025 for the Northeast Railway along with Gorakhpur in UP, the day of history was recorded in the pages of history. At a function held in Siwan, Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Pataliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express through virtual medium. When the train reached the platform number 2 at 9.15 pm at Gorakhpur Junction railway station, the passengers in the train and the people present on the platform were filled with enthusiasm.

Even before the arrival of the train on platform number 2 of Gorakhpur Junction, the public along with the railway officials and employees along with Gorakhpur Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, Cabinet Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad, MLC Dr. Dharmendra Singh also gathered to welcome the public. On this occasion, public representatives said that this state -of -the -art train will take connectivity between Patna, capital of Bihar and Gorakhpur in eastern Uttar Pradesh, to new heights.

Pataliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express welcomed
In a function organized at Kaptanganj railway station, Kushinagar MP Vijay Kumar Dubey, MLA Vinay Prakash Gond, MLA Mohan Verma and a large number of Kaptanganj residents gave a grand welcome to the Pataliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express train.

Railway passengers appreciated the facilities of the train. Railway officials said that this train will not only save time, but will also promote business, education and tourism. An example of ‘Make in India’ will double the pace of regional development. Indian Railways is moving rapidly towards modernization, this train is a lively example.

Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) Lucknow Rajneesh Gupta, Station Director Gorakhpur JP Singh and other officials witnessed the first visit of Pataliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat train. They were strongly welcomed by giving flowers of railway passengers and umbrellas traveling.

Guests gave a grand welcome to the passengers along with Loco Pilot Rajiv Ranjan Kumar, Assistant Loco Pilot Arun Kumar and train manager Ajay Kumar. The guests were welcomed by Additional Divisional Railway Manager Operation Varanasi RK Singh and the program was conducted by Assistant Commerce Manager PN Mishra.

Will travel 384 km in 7 hours
These Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 384 kilometers during its regular operation in just 7 hours, which will connect Gorakhpur, Kaptanganj, Narkatiaganj, Bettiah, Bapudham Motihari, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur and Pataliputra stations. Modern facilities in the train such as automatic doors, Wi-Fi, GPS based screen, bio toilet and CCTV cameras will provide safe and comfortable travel to passengers. Onboard food convenience will make the journey more easy.
