Five people have died under suspicious circumstances in Chhapra, Bihar. The first death was of Santosh Mahato in Mashrak last Wednesday (March 11, 2026) night. After this, one death occurred in Panapur last night (Thursday, March 12, 2026). About five people have died in this manner. The family members of some of them have talked about drinking alcohol. Although the administration is saying death due to disease.
According to the information, two people died in Panapur and three died in Mashrak. The deceased have been identified as Santosh Mahato (Mashrak), Raghuvar Mahato (Mashrak), Dharmendra Singh (Mashrak), Sukhal Nat (Panapur) and Dharmendra Rai (Panapur). Of these, the family members of Santosh Mahato have talked about drinking alcohol. Much information about the remaining dead has not been revealed yet.

Wife Lalmuni Devi said, “My husband came home at night, ate milk and bread and went to sleep. When he woke up in the morning, he said that he was having stomach ache and couldn’t even see with his eyes. He vomited four times. We immediately took him to the government hospital and referred him from there. While dying, he just kept saying that he couldn’t see anything with his eyes. During the treatment, Santosh had told about drinking alcohol. I have also mentioned this in the slip.”
Santosh Mahato’s nephew said, “We do not have complete information about how uncle died. On Tuesday, he had come home from somewhere after drinking alcohol. His health deteriorated in the night and he started vomiting continuously. He kept vomiting the whole night.”

Mashrak’s SDPO Sanjay Kumar Sudhanshu said that no information has been received about death due to drinking alcohol. We are investigating the matter. At first glance, there is a possibility of death due to liver damage. It is said that Santosh Mahato, resident of Takht village of Mashrak police station area, was a painter by profession. Used to work as a labourer.

DPRO Ravindra Kumar told in this entire matter that according to the information that came to light during the investigation, the deceased Santosh Mahato had a dispute with his wife a few days ago. For this reason he was mentally disturbed. He had not even eaten food properly for the last three days. Death occurred due to illness. On the other hand, Madhaura Sub-Divisional Officer Nidhi Raj told that one person (Santosh Mahato) had died the night before yesterday. One person died in Panapur last night (Thursday).
