Jammu kashmir terror attack: Amidst the boom in anti-terrorism operations, security forces blew up four more houses of terrorists active in the Kashmir Valley in the last 24 hours, while unidentified gunmen shot and killed a civilian in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The person killed was a common citizen, whose brother went to Pakistan a few years ago and is involved in Lashkar.
Police said the suspected gunmen fired at 45 -year -old Ghulam Rasool Magre at Kandi Khas late on Saturday, injuring him seriously. “Magre was immediately taken to a medical facility from where he was transferred to a hospital in Srinagar. He died there,” he said. He told that the post -mortem of the body was later done.
Joint security forces conducted search operation
After the attack, joint security forces carried out a large -scale search operation to locate the attackers. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has registered a case and started investigating the case. Although the motive behind the murder is not clear, security sources said that Magre’s brother Ghulam Mohidin Magre crosses the Line of Control and lives in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK). Mohidin is believed to be an active member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist group.
Terrorists’ houses being demolished
A citizen in Kupwara has been killed at a time when security forces have intensified the campaign against terrorists and their supporters in Kashmir in view of the Pahalgam attack earlier this week. In the ongoing action, the houses of at least nine terrorists have been “destroyed using explosives” and hundreds of suspects have been detained for questioning.
Three more houses of terrorists were destroyed using explosives from Saturday evening. The houses that were flown by the blast include Adnan Safi Dar in Zainpora Shopian, Jamil Ahmed Sheer Gojri in Bandipora and Aamir Nazir Wani in Tral of Pulwama.
Two people were detained
Meanwhile, two “hardcore” over ground workers (OGW) were detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Budgam district of Central Kashmir. Under PSA, a maximum of one or two years can be detained without any charge or case.

Police said, “These arrests have been made on the basis of continuous efforts and actionable intelligence, which reflect the involvement of both in providing active support to the terrorist organizations active in the region.”
A police statement said, “Those detained were helpful in facilitating terrorist activities, including their continuous participation in movement, shelter, logistics, and anti-national activities and their role in motivating local youth to join the banned terrorist organizations. It was considered necessary to install PSA, and their custody is considered necessary in the district.”
