According to the police, at around 2.30 am on January 27, Jacob Martin hit three parked vehicles with his luxury SUV near Puni Nagar Society in Akota area of Vadodara. It is being told that he was in an intoxicated state while driving. Police reached the spot after the incident, took him into custody and after medical examination, he was arrested.
Made debut under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly
When Jacob Martin started his international career for the Indian team, Sourav Ganguly was the captain. He has shared the dressing room with legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar. However, his international career did not last long. He played only 10 ODI matches for India, in which he has 158 runs in his name. After this he could not cement his place in Team India.
Had a strong record in domestic cricket
Despite getting limited opportunities at the international level, Jacob Martin’s domestic cricket record has been quite excellent. He played 138 first class matches and scored more than 9,000 runs at an average of over 46. He has 23 centuries and 47 half-centuries in his name. Even in List A cricket, he scored around 3,000 runs and played many important innings. In domestic cricket, he was considered a strong pillar of the Baroda team.

This is not the first time that Jacob Martin has been embroiled in controversies. In 2009, he was accused of serious human trafficking. The allegation was that he helped send a person to Britain illegally and got a fake passport made for him. He has also gone to Tihar Jail in this case. Later, even after coming out on bail, his name remained in the news.
