The political turmoil over the change of power in Karnataka is showing no sign of stopping. The ongoing direct and indirect war of words between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has increased the concern of the Congress high command. The question of ‘who will sit’ on the power of the state is currently unresolved, but now the key to the decision of this entire dispute has reached the hands of Rahul Gandhi.
According to sources, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has given a clear indication to both the leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar that the final decision will be taken by the party high command. He has also told that Sonia Gandhi is out of the country these days and the final discussion on change of leadership will take place after her return. After this, Rahul Gandhi will decide whether there will be a change in the post of Chief Minister or Siddaramaiah will remain on the post.

This ongoing tug of war regarding leadership in Karnataka has not only increased the turmoil in the politics of the state. In fact, it has created a situation of confusion within the Congress organization also. At present, all eyes are on Rahul Gandhi’s decision, which will determine who will be in charge of Karnataka.

If we look at the current situation in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah is the strongest leader of Congress. He belongs to Ahinda community. He also has the strong support of more than 100 out of 137 MLAs. Therefore, in such a situation, any kind of change without their consent will be a bit difficult.
On the other hand, pressure is increasing on DK Shivkumar and his camp. The important thing is that DK’s claim within Congress seems to be unstable due to internal support. Although the final decision on the Karnataka chair will be taken by the Congress high command, it has become clear.
