But the threat of attack has not reduced yet. The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is now heading towards the Middle East. Some reports claim that George H.W. Bush Carrier Group is also moving towards this area. The last time the Pentagon ordered such a massive deployment, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were arrested. The American attack has spread unrest in the area.
Gulf oil producing countries issued warning
Here, the oil producing countries of the Gulf have issued a warning. Due to increasing tension in this, the Strait of Hormuz may be closed. This is an important point for oil trade for the world. Due to this, a huge jump in oil prices has been seen. This could cause a big shock to the global markets. Experts believe that due to reduction in Gulf oil supply, countries like China may look for other options. Countries bordering Iran may also face difficulties.
Is there any kind of threat to Pakistan?
Former diplomat and political expert Maleeha Lodhi told AFP that any kind of US military attack on Iran could be dangerous and destabilizing for the entire region. Especially it can have a deep impact on Pakistan, its consequences can also be serious. This will strengthen the terrorists in Balochistan. It is a matter of concern for the security of Pakistan. Pakistan is growing closer to America, but is also opposing the possible attack on Iran.
Why did Pakistan’s concern increase due to the attack on Iran?
The reason behind this is that both the countries share a border of 900 km. It is a safe haven for Baloch terrorism. Baloch-Sistan province of Iran which borders Balochistan of Pakistan. Pakistan alleges that groups of terrorist groups like Baloch Liberation Army and Balochistan Liberation Front are across the border. This allows terrorists to attack Pakistan security forces without any fear.
Pakistan’s Boolchistan province is a safe haven for anti-Iran militias like Jaish al-Dal and Ansar al-Furqan. They often target Iranian security forces. Due to this, distrust and conflict remains between the two neighboring countries. Both accuse each other of harboring terrorists.
This tension was also seen in January 2024. During this time, Iran had attacked Jaish al-Adl bases in Panjgur district of Pakistan with missiles and drones. In this, the positions of BLA and BLF were attacked. Later both the countries restored peace. During the visit to Pakistan in 2025, both the countries had also signed 12 agreements reiterating brotherhood.
However, a possible attack on Iran cannot be said to be good for Pakistan’s security. Relations between Pakistan and America may come under this tension. America can use Pakistan’s military facilities and airspace to attack Iran. This may worsen the relations between the two countries.
