Till 8 am on Wednesday, about 15 lakh devotees took bath in the Sangam and experienced faith. During this time, everyone from youth to elders was seen taking a dip in the Sangam.

At the same time, this time on the Makar Sankranti bathing festival, it is estimated that more than 2 crore people will take a dip in the Sangam. In such a situation, the security arrangements are also very strict. Police and security forces are deployed everywhere. The fair administration has banned the entry of four-wheelers since January 13, so that the crowd remains under control at various places. Police Commissioner Jogendra Kumar said that mounted police, foot patrolling, water police and RAF personnel are working with full precaution on the Sangam bank.

Besides, Badraj Company is also engaged, so that no untoward incident happens. He said that a special diversion plan has been made to bring the crowd easily to Sangam and from there back to their destination. The Commissioner said that right now the crowd is good and everyone is safe.

On this occasion, people are reaching their respective ghats not only from Prayagraj but also from religious cities like Varanasi, Ayodhya and Mathura.
