What allegations has Congress made against the BJP government of Assam?

Congress has presented it by the name of People’s Charge Sheet. In this, it has been presented in the name of People of Assam vs BJP Government of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma (2021-2026). In this, allegations have been made point wise by the Congress against the BJP’s Assam government.

  1. Institutionalizing ‘Syndicate Raj’ in Assam and establishing a parallel economy driven by black money.
  2. Widespread corruption and accumulation of illegal wealth by ministers close to Himanta Biswa Sarma and their families.
  3. Rising debt, irresponsible governance and financial mismanagement.
  4. Failure to grant Scheduled Tribe status to 6 communities (Koch Rajbongshi, Tai Ahom, Moran, Motok, Chutia and tribal tea tribes).
  5. Handing over indigenous land of Assam for corporate expansion.

  19. Failure of urban planning, leading to poor waste management, sewerage overflows and submerged cities.
