Protest against waqf act: Protests are being seen in many states regarding the Waqf Act passed by Parliament. Also, hearing is going on in the Supreme Court regarding this. The latest development organized a General Assembly by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board on the night of Sunday (April 19, 2025) in Hyderabad, which received the support of AIMIM. Constant protests were announced in this General Assembly.

During this time it has also been announced that on April 30, 2025, blackout protests will be held, in which all the lights of the houses will be closed at 9 pm. Bachao Bachao, Bachao public meeting held at Darussalam, the headquarters of AIMIM in Hyderabad, was announced to protest in the Constitution. Members of several parties including Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), YSR Congress Party and Dravid Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) attended this meeting.

‘Movement against forces ending Muslims’

Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that this movement is against the forces that want to end us, but we will continue to move forward. He said, “These forces trying to share and break us will collapse. We will not bow our heads. When I torn the law in Parliament, I also did this from all the brothers and sisters of other religions who would be affected by similar cruel laws.”

Round-table meeting will be held on May 18

In this General Assembly, it was also decided to organize a round-table meeting at the city level on 18 May and later to hold similar meetings in all the districts. AIMPLB said, “Local minority leaders and secular representatives should be invited to participate in these meetings.” On May 22, a public meeting of women will be held at Idgah Bilali Hockey Ground in Hyderabad.

On May 25, a protest will be held in Hyderabad from 2 pm to 2.30 pm and protest will be held on 1 June. The AIMPLB leadership announced on Sunday, “Public meetings will be held in the districts of Andhra and Telangana in consultation with local leadership.”

‘How dangerous is this law’

AIMPLB President Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani said, “We are confident in the courts that this law will be banned. There are people who have encroached on Waqf property and this law has made it impossible to regain Waqf property.” He said that this law will make Muslims only visitor on their own property. Rahmani said, “Any mosque from Mecca Masjid can be considered a non-confident property. You can come as a tourist to see the property. How dangerous this law is?”

‘Dawoodi Bohra Community not supporting law’

Owaisi said that the Dawoodi Bohra community is not supporting the law, while the BJP is claiming that this community is supporting. Owaisi said, “The community had said in front of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) that they would not support the Waqf Act.” He said that BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have misled the community and have presented incorrectly.
