Ashok Goyal, wife of former Additional Advocate General of Punjab and Haryana High Court Krishna Kumar Goyal, was murdered at her house in Phase 5, Mohali. He was strangled to death. The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the woman working at the house reached there. He went inside and saw Ashok Goyal’s body and immediately informed the police. The domestic help was found tied to a chair on the spot.
According to the police, the accused looted the house, stole jewelery and cash and ran away. This incident spread panic in the area. On receiving information, police and forensic team reached the spot and collected evidence.

Police are checking the footage of nearby CCTV cameras. During the investigation, the question arose that if the elderly woman was murdered, then why was the young servant left alive? Due to this suspicion, the police considered the role of the servant as suspicious and took him into custody. At present his investigation is going on.
What did the police say on Mohali murder case?
The detained servant has been identified as Neeraj. He is around 25 years old and was working for the Goyal family for the last nine years. It is being told that at the time of the incident, Krishna Kumar Goyal had gone to Muscat to meet his daughter.
