US President Donald Trump expressed displeasure over Russian President Vladimir Putin over the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump said that Putin ‘really disappointed him’ and failed to end the war. Trump warned that the US could take more stringent steps on Russia.
Disappointment despite good relationships- Trump
Trump said that he had a good relationship with Putin for a long time, but the Ukraine War has changed the situation. He said that Putin’s failure has disappointed him and now America may have to adopt a ‘very strict stance’. The US President indicated that more strict restrictions can be imposed on Russia. This may include a ban on Russian banks and oil business. However, he has not yet made any formal announcement.
Putin broke my trust- Trump
Trump said that given his relationship with Putin, he felt that it would be the easiest to resolve the Ukraine war. Trump further said- ‘One of whom I thought the easiest … because of the relationship with my President Putin … but he has disappointed me and broke my trust.’
During a press conference at Checker in Buckinghamshire, Trump, while discussing the ongoing struggles in Ukraine and Gaza, said that he is working hard to resolve these issues. Things are complex, but the solution will definitely come out.
The war between Russia and Ukraine continues
On the other hand, Russia’s top general Valerie Garasimov claimed that his army was moving in almost all directions in Ukraine. He said that the Pokrovsk region of Eastern Donnetsk is the most fighting, where the Ukrainian army is throwing its most trained units.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky dismissed the Russian claim. He says that Russia has not made any major progress despite recent attacks and the Ukrainian army is firmly on fronts.
