Russia has taken this decision at a time when his war with Ukraine is at a terrible turn. According to a report by the News Agency Associated Press, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Sunday (27 July 2025) that the Russian Air Force killed 99 Ukrainian drones in several areas in the night. ‘More than 200 Ukrainian drones dropped over Russia’
Reducing the scale of Naval Day celebrations by Russia reflects Moscow’s concerns about Ukraine’s broad drone attacks across the country. The local administration had given information about the cancellation of the parade a day earlier, but till then no official reason was given. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, more than 200 Ukrainian drones were dropped over Russia on Saturday (26 April 2025).
This is not the first time Russia has canceled the Navy Day Parade. Last year too, the parade to be held at CronStad Port was canceled, but the show took place in St. Petersburg. The report claimed that Russia has taken this decision after the possibility of Ukrainian attack and American warning. Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the valor of the Navy on the day of Navy Day in the video message.
