What was said in the notice?

The SSC said in its notice that it has come to the notice of the Commission that many people and coaching institutes are discussing and analysis on social media on the contents of the ongoing examinations. The Commission clarified that such activities are strictly forbidden under the Public Examination (Prevention of Inappropriate Instruments) Act, 2024 (PEA Act 2024).

  • If any person is found guilty, there can be a fine of 3 to 5 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh.

Why this step was taken?

In recent times, the question papers and analysis of SSC exams were being shared indiscriminately on social media. This was raising questions on the confidentiality and fairness of the examination. Many candidates had also lodged a complaint that such cases are losing the students studying honestly. This is the reason that the Commission has now made it clear that any kind of paper discussion will be tolerated on social media.

What should not be done by candidates?

  • Even after the examination is over, do not share the question paper or its questions on social media.
  • Do not be part of paper analysis on coaching classes or YouTube channels.
