R asshwin punished: R Ashwin got entangled with the umpire after being given LBDbal out during a match at Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2025). He was so angry that on the go, he hit his bat loudly on his pad. After this, he took off his gloves and threw it across the boundary loudly. After which it was decided that action would be taken against him. He was convicted of violation of the code of conduct, after which he was punished.

Captain Ashwin was found guilty in 2 cases by match referee Arjun Kripal Singh, after which he was punished. Ashwin was fined 30 percent of the match fee. He was punished in the case of appearing for the umpire and misusing cricket equipment. Cricbuj quoted a Tamil Nadu Premier League official as saying that it was heard after the match. To show disagreement with the umpires, 10 percent of the fees were deducted while 20 percent fine was imposed for misuse of equipment. Ashwin accepted his mistake.

This was the 5th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Dindigul Dragons, captained by Ashwin, were all out for 93 runs. Chasing the target, Karaikudi Kalai won in 11.5 overs.
