Congress training session: In order to surround the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress has kept a training session of all its spokespersons and media panelists from across the country on Friday (May 23, 2025). About 142 spokespersons and media panelists from across the country reached this training session. This training was organized at Indira Bhavan, the new office of Congress in Delhi. During this time, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also reached this training session and addressed everyone.

According to information received from sources, during this time, Rahul Gandhi gave advice about how to keep all the spokespersons and media panelists on every issue on TV and other platforms. Rahul Gandhi said in this meeting that we do not have to get caught in BJP’s trap, going to BJP’s pitch and batting. Rahul said that BJP is a factless party. We have the fact on every issue, you should debate us on the same basis.

Rahul Gandhi’s Congress leaders on TV debates

Rahul Gandhi, while advising the spokespersons, further said that keep your side aggressively in the TV debate, we do not have to be defensive. Have to keep your words prominently. Because you face levelless people, you do not have to debate at that level. Rahul further said that most people speak the same language on TV, you have to face them alone. Therefore, you have to keep the facts bravely. If you are not given a chance to speak, then you leave the debate after putting your side aggressively.

Mallikarjun Kharge’s video message

During this time, a video message of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was also put in front of everyone in the meeting. In his video message, Kharge said that this workshop is not just a program, it is the continuity of our thoughts and struggle. Today, when the country is talking about caste justice, then it is the responsibility of the Congress party to give direction to this discussion, take it from the slogan to the policy and make the rights the rights not only a slogan, but also a national resolution.

What did Mallikarjun Kharge say on caste census

Kharge said that we all know that the issue of caste census is not new. The Congress party has taken it continuously, in our manifestos, in Parliament, on the streets and on every platform where there should be talk of social justice. I myself wrote a letter to the Prime Minister in April 2023, repeating the demand that the caste census be started immediately. In that letter I had clearly said, till we do not have the right figures, no government can claim that it is providing justice to everyone.

He further said in his message that we have to ask what is the participation of OBC, Dalit and tribal communities in the power structures of the country? Do they represent in the media, in bureaucracy, in the judiciary, in the corporate sector and in higher education institutions in proportion to their population? If not, what is the reason for this? And what is the solution?

Kharge said that the solution is to bring out the truth, make the data public and then rebuild policies. This is the reason that we do not consider caste census as only one figures exercise, but it is the moral responsibility of Indian democracy.

Talk of reservation in educational institutions

Congress President Kharge said that we also have to clearly demand that Article 15 (5) of the Constitution be implemented immediately, so that OBC, Dalit and tribal students get reservation in private educational institutions. Today, when a large part of education has become concentrated in the private sector, then it is a kind of exploitation to deprive these communities from that reach. The Congress believes that no society can be equal without equal opportunity in education.

He further said that we also have to ensure that 50% reservation limit is now rethinking in the light of new data. When social realities have changed and the figures are presenting a new picture, then our policies should also change the same accordingly. The current limit of reservation should be seen with the balance of both data and justice, so that OBC, Dalit and tribal communities can get their real rights.

Example given of Telangana caste survey

Kharge said that the caste survey in Telangana presented a model, in which the society, expert and the government were all involved. We want the central government to adopt a similar people and transparent models. We are ready to cooperate in this process. All of you are the spokesperson of our party, the voice of our thoughts. Today, when the country is becoming aware of caste census, it is our responsibility to take this subject among the public with facts, sensitivity, and fearlessly among the public. This is not only a fight for social justice, but a battle to protect the soul of the Constitution.
