Rahul Gandhi arrived wearing a black T-shirt from the online gaming bill, amidst the uproar of the opposition; House’s proceedings postponed

The ‘Online Gaming Promotion and Regulation Bill, 2025’ was passed in the Lok Sabha. With the passage of this bill, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings of the House till 11 am on Thursday. According to the new bill, anyone who provides online money gaming services can be a maximum imprisonment of three years, a fine of up to ₹ 1 crore or both. Those who advertise these services can be imposed in jail up to two years and a fine of up to ₹ 50 lakh. At the same time, banks and financial institutions providing transactions facilities for real money games will also be responsible for imprisonment of up to three years or fine of up to ₹ 1 crore.
