Rahul gandhi on eci: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, after rejecting the allegations of rigging in the last year assembly elections in Maharashtra, rejected it by the Election Commission sources, on Saturday, saying that its credibility will not be safe by hiding but will avoid telling the truth.

Election Commission sources expressed surprise that instead of writing a letter directly to the Commission, why are Congress leaders seeking answers through articles in newspapers?

An ECI official said, “It is very strange that despite a detailed letter written by the Commission to the Congress on December 24 last year, Rahul Gandhi is repeatedly talking to the media to seek and write to his baseless doubts.”

He also informed that the Election Commission had invited them separately to talk to six national parties and all the rest except Congress met the election officials. The Congress had canceled the proposed meeting by the Election Commission on 15 May.

The officer said, “It is not clear why Rahul Gandhi himself is reluctant to get a letter to the Election Commission.” At the same time, Rahul Gandhi has questioned the Election Commission to answer his questions on the basis of sources.

Gandhi said on ‘X’, ‘Dear Election Commission, you are a constitutional institution. Issuing notes that hide the answers without signature, (questions to questions) are not the way to answer serious questions.

He said, ‘If you have nothing to hide, answer the questions given in my article and prove it: Publish integrated, digital, machine-elective voter list for the recent elections of all the states including Maharashtra and release all the CCTV footage after 5 pm from polling stations in Maharashtra.’

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha also said, ‘Your credibility will not be safe by hiding. By telling the truth, your credibility will be safe. Earlier, sources in the Election Commission had rejected Gandhi’s claims about the alleged irregularities in the Maharashtra elections.

On Gandhi’s allegations, Sources in the Election Commission said that any misconception broadcast by anyone is the slander of thousands of delegates appointed by political parties during the elections and the morale of the election staff, who work tirelessly for this big exercise.

Sources said that the baseless allegations made on the voter list of Maharashtra are disrespect of the rule of law. Underlining that the ‘match fix’ election is ‘poison’ for any democracy, Gandhi wrote that the side who cheats can win the game, but he harms the institutions and breaks the public’s trust.

Rahul Gandhi has told about the alleged irregularities in the election in a phased manner how fake voters were added to the voter list, the voting percentage was exaggerated, fake voting was conducted and later the evidence was hidden.
