Congress leader Udit Raj asked the Opposition MP and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi to prove the second Ambedkar for the OBC community. This comment of the Congress leader has made a scathing attack by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP has called the statement of the Congress leader an insult to the Dalits as well as the constitution maker and social reformer Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
What did Congress leader Udit Raj say,
In fact, Congress leader Udit Raj posted a post on social media platform X on Saturday (July 26, 2025). Udit Raj said in the post, “People of the OBC community will have to think that history does not give them a chance to progress again and again. Whatever things Rahul Gandhi has somewhere in Talkatora Stadium should follow their words and give their support. If they do so, Rahul Gandhi will prove to be another Ambedkar for his (Obisa community).”
BJP condemns Congress leader’s remarks
However, the BJP not only condemned this comment of the Congress leader, but also called such a comparison for Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy. Reacting to Udit Raj’s statement, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala launched a scathing attack on the Congress party. He said, “When the Congress party is talking about another Ambedkar, meaning he never respected the real Ambedkar.”
He said, “It has become the identity of the Congress to insult Dalits and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Who has insulted the real Ambedkar? Who did not give him Bharat Ratna? Who did not allow his constitution to be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir? Who did the talk of Muslim reservation? Who said that reservation is wrong, he was Jawaharlal Nehru.”
Congress party worships only one family- Shahzad Poonawala
He further said, “Now these people want to become another Ambedkar, not Nehru or Indira Gandhi? This itself is also believing that Nehru and Indira Gandhi were on the wrong path, because the Congress party knows to worship only one family and worships that family, this is its ideology.”
