
In Lord’s Test against India, Joe Root has scored a 37th century of his Test career. He has now finished fifth in terms of scoring the most centuries in Test cricket. Root achieved this position on the second day of Lord’s Test.

Joe Root had already made a record of making the most Test century for England. Now he has left behind veterans like Rahul Dravid and Steve Smith in terms of centuries.

Indian veteran Rahul Dravid had scored 36 Test centuries in his career, while Steve Smith has also scored the same number of centuries. But the route has now scored 37 centuries, only 4 batsmen are ahead of them in this list.

Sachin Tendulkar has the record for the highest century in Test cricket. Tendulkar scored 51 Test centuries in his historic career. Jacques Kallis has 45 Test centuries. At the same time, Ricky Ponting is at number three, who held 41 centuries.

Sri Lankan veteran Kumar Sangakkara is at number four in terms of scoring the most centuries in the Test, who scored 38 centuries. Root will overtake him as soon as he scored 2 centuries, but he will have to hit 15 centuries and to break Tendulkar’s record.

Joe Root has completed 3,000 runs in Red-Ball cricket against India in Lord’s Test match itself. He is the first batsman in the world to do so.
