A political controversy has erupted after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was handed over a driving license, said to be that of his grandfather Firoz Gandhi, during his visit to his parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Yogi government, has raised questions on the validity of this driving license and demanded an investigation.
Rahul Gandhi was on a tour of his parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli. On the second day of the tour, a person named Vikas Singh, associated with the organizing board of Rae Bareli Premier League, handed him this driving license. Vikas Singh claims that this license was suddenly given to his father-in-law during a program years ago. After this, his father-in-law and then mother-in-law kept it safe and now it was handed over to Rahul Gandhi.
Dinesh Pratap Singh asked- How did this document come?
However, Minister of State Dinesh Pratap Singh has raised serious questions on this entire incident. He said that any personal document coming out like this raises suspicion. Dinesh Singh demanded that it should be investigated whether the driving license is genuine and valid or not, and it should also be clarified how this document came into the possession of the person who handed it over.
Dinesh Pratap Singh said, ‘Driving license is the personal property of a person, which should generally be with his family or heirs. How this license reached another person is a matter of serious investigation. He also expressed apprehension whether this issue was deliberately raised to make Rahul Gandhi’s Rae Bareli visit an ‘event’.
Feroze Gandhi Driving License: Dinesh Singh targets Rahul Gandhi
Along with this, the Minister of State also targeted Rahul Gandhi through a Facebook post. He wrote whether this issue has been raised to mislead the people of Rae Bareli and to gain cheap popularity. In the post, he also questioned that if this license was found in someone’s house, then why was it not returned to the heirs for so many years and whether this document is legally made or fake.
At the same time, Rahul Gandhi became emotional after getting his grandfather’s driving license and he immediately informed his mother Sonia Gandhi about it through WhatsApp. Rahul Gandhi also thanked Vikas Singh from the stage who handed over the license.
The driving license that Rahul Gandhi has received from his grandfather was issued 88 years ago i.e. in 1938. Now it remains to be seen what will be the stand on Dinesh Pratap Singh’s demand after 88 years.
