The national capital of the country, Delhi received heavy rains in many areas on Saturday (August 16). After the rain on the occasion of Janmashtami, there is some relief from the humid heat. Due to heavy rains in some areas, the speed of trains slowed down. The problem of waterlogging is also visible in many places. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had already forecast rain in Delhi on Saturday.

Photos also came near Bangla Sahib Gurdwara area of Delhi. Many children were seen having fun on the road in the rain, they were seen playing in water. At the same time, the speed of traffic looked a bit slow in this area too.

Waterlogging in many places due to rain

People were also seen around India Gate in the rain. Many tourists were seen enjoying the rain. On Saturday too, the game of blind and sun continued between the clouds and the sun and the clouds were rained by the evening. Due to rain, along with waterlogging, traffic jams and drainage systems were also seen in many places.

How will the weather be on August 17

On Saturday, the minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 1.5 degrees below normal. IMD has also predicted cloudy and light rain on Sunday (August 17), while the maximum temperature is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, relative humidity was recorded at 90 percent at 8.30 am. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 112 at 9 am on Saturday, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category.

2 children died due to wall collapse in Vasant Vihar

Earlier on August 14, 2 children died due to heavy rains and waterlogging in the Vasant Vihar area of Southwest Delhi. A case has been registered in this regard. Police said one of the dead was nine years old, while the other was 10 years old. Police said that the incident took place near Hanuman temple in Basant Nagar on Thursday evening.
