Rain in many parts of North India
Many parts of North India like UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Jammu are receiving heavy rains. There is a process of rain in these states and Red, Orange and Yellow Alert have also been released in some areas.
Rivers boom- Things in Prayagraj, Varanasi and Patna are serious
Rivers are in spate in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar. The water level of Ganga in Prayagraj and Varanasi has increased considerably. In Varanasi, Ganga has knocked on the last stairs of all the ghats. The flood of Ganga and other rivers in about 20 districts including Patna in Bihar has disturbed life.
Warning of heavy rain in Rajasthan
The Meteorological Department has said that the low pressure area over southwest Bihar and Uttar Pradesh is moving forward, due to which there is a possibility of heavy rains in the eastern parts of Rajasthan from July 17. Light to moderate rain may occur in Bikaner division in the next two days, while light rain is expected in only some places in Jodhpur division.
Amarnath Yatra postponed for one day
Jammu and Kashmir Information Department said that the Amarnath Yatra has been postponed from Pahalgam and Baltal base camps on Thursday due to heavy rains. To repair the damage caused on both the routes, the Border Roads Organization has deployed a large number of personnel and machines, so that the journey can be resumed from Friday.
Landslide and waterlogging in Kerala, red alert issued
Due to continuous rains, landslides occurred in Kozhikode district of Kerala and water entered many houses. The administration has issued an alert due to the rise in the water level of rivers in Kasargod district. IMD has issued a red alert in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod. There is a warning of heavy rains on July 19-20 in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts.
Alert of heavy rain in Uttarakhand too
There is a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in 5 districts including Dehradun, Nainital in Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has said that in the next 7 days, there may be heavy rains in Dehradun, as well as the possibility of lightning fall.
