Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar, who visited Kota district, made a big announcement for the students. He said that Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), Ajmer will now give students the opportunity to appear for board exams twice in the same academic session. This new system will be implemented from the next academic session.
Minister Dilawar said that this step has been taken under the provisions of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The aim of the new education policy is to give more opportunities and flexibility to the students, so that they can better showcase their abilities. He said that it will be mandatory for all students to appear in the first board examination, while those students who qualify this examination will get an opportunity to appear in the second examination to improve their marks in up to three subjects.
Dilawar also clarified that the students who will be declared supplementary will also be allowed to appear in the second chance examination in maximum three subjects. Supplementary subjects will also be included in it, so that now students will not have to wait for the whole year and they will be able to improve their results in the same session.
What did the Education Minister say?
Rajasthan Board will conduct the examination twice a year from now on. The first main examination will be held in February-March and after the results are declared, the second examination, which will be called ‘Second Chance Examination’, will be conducted in May-June. Both the examinations will be based on the complete syllabus of the same session. This means that students will not have to do any new or different preparation. The study plan and examination system will remain the same both the times.
Dilawar said that if a student remains absent in the main examination, he will be allowed to appear in the second examination only on production of medical certificate or certificate issued by the District Education Officer. This arrangement will be made only for those students whose absence has a valid reason.
this much will be the fee
The Education Minister said that the fee for the second chance examination will be the same as that of the main examination. Students will not have to bear any kind of financial burden due to this system. Besides, the board has also decided that the principle of ‘best of two’ will be implemented in it. That means, whichever student has more marks in both the examinations, only those marks will be included in the final result. This will reduce the pressure on students to score good marks in the first examination to a great extent.
