The annual budget of Rajasthan government for the financial year 2026-27 will be presented on 11 February. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari will present the budget for the third consecutive time in the state assembly at 11 am. This budget session will come amid the ongoing assembly proceedings from January 28 and will decide the economic direction of the state. There is a possibility of a significant increase in the size of the budget compared to last year.

Budget size and political signals

According to the schedule, the size of the budget presented by Finance Minister Dia Kumari may be 7 to 10 percent more than the Rs 5.37 lakh crore of the previous financial year 2025-26. This is being considered as the third budget of Bhajan Lal government, on which special attention is being kept at both political and social levels. Preparations are being made to make the budget development-oriented and balanced.

Before the budget, Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa said that in the upcoming budget, all sections of the society will be taken care of and it will be completely inclusive. Bharatiya Janata Party state president Madan Rathod expressed confidence that this budget will keep the interests of youth, farmers, women and the general public at the center. He described it as dedicated to the overall development of the state.

Public expectations and possible announcements

Social workers and common people expect concrete decisions on employment, infrastructure and farmer welfare from Budget 2026-27. Possible announcements may include a calendar of about 1.50 lakh new government jobs, increase in Kisan Samman Nidhi, expansion of schemes for women, new greenfield expressways and metro projects. Reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel and relief in electricity bills are also expected.

Leader of opposition also surrounded the government on the basis of budget

At the same time, the opposition is already attacking the budget presented today and has described it as a bunch of catchphrases and false hopes. Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie cornered the government and said that the ground is completely empty amid the noise of advertisements and claims. He said that out of the total 2717 announcements made last year, only 754 were fulfilled and there are 707 announcements (26.02%) which have not been touched by the government even after two years have passed.
