Rajasthan: Controversy over hijab in Tonk, senior doctor stopped the intern, ‘Leave the medical field’

After Karnataka, the controversy over wearing hijab in Rajasthan has intensified. The case is related to MCH, the largest government women’s hospital in Tonk district, where a Muslim intern student tried to work wearing a hijab and the senior doctor stopped her. The matter has come into the limelight after the video of this incident went viral.

Senior doctor stopped wearing hijab

The matter started when the intern lady student Umama came to the hospital and wore a hijab. Senior Lady Doctor Indu Gupta of the hospital refused to come to the hospital wearing a hijab and do duty.

The doctor said that the hijab is not a part of any religion and if the intern finds it so important to wear it, then he should leave the medical field and sit at home.

During the debate, the senior doctor kept saying repeatedly that she would not allow duty in the hospital wearing a hijab. He says that every patient has the right to see the face of his doctor and hospital staff.

Intern recorded the video

Inner Muslim student Umama recorded a video of a doctor’s conversation with his mobile phone and made it viral. In the video, Umama is trying to explain again and again that she will put biometric attendance, show her face when coming to the hospital daily and put a plate of name on her clothes.

Umama said that she is wearing hijab because according to her religion she cannot show her face and another part of the body. Despite this, the senior doctor refuses that she would not allow hijab in the hospital.

There has been a dispute before

This is not the first time Umama was prevented from wearing hijab. Earlier, he had complained to Dr. Vinod Parveria, in -charge of the hospital.

Three days ago, the in -charge refused the senior doctor to do so and said that everyone has the right to work according to their religion. But despite this, Dr. Indu Gupta refused to wear the hijab again. The in -charge has described it as unfortunate.

Congress raised the issue, demonstrated

Political politics has also started regarding this matter. The Congress party demonstrated in the hospital, making the hijab controversy an issue. Congress leader Ausaf Khan and his activists submitted a memorandum to the in -charge and demanded action against Dr. Indu Gupta.

The protesters said that this incident has hurt the sentiments of a particular community. He insisted that strict action should be taken against the doctor stopping wearing hijab.

Police started investigation

So far no party has complained directly to the police, but the Tonk police has started investigating the case on the basis of viral video. Police say that if someone tries to spoil the atmosphere on social media, strict action will be taken against him.

Intern Umama has clearly refused to make any statement in front of the media. She says that she is doing an internship in the hospital and will keep her complaint only in front of the concerned officials. She clarified that she will not put any talk in front of the media or any political person.
