There is a very relieving news for the parents of small children in Rajasthan. Rajasthan government has taken a big and important decision in the field of education. Now the scope of Right to Education (RTE) has been increased, due to which more children than before will get the opportunity to study free in private schools. This decision is especially beneficial for those families who are financially weak and want to educate their children in a good school, but are unable to do so due to fees, with this step of the government, now children from nursery to first class will also be able to get admission under RTE.
Now free admission will be available in four classes
Earlier under RTE, admission facility was available only in limited classes. But now according to the new rules, free admission will be given in private schools for Nursery (Pre-Primary 3+), LKG (Pre-Primary 4+), UKG (Pre-Primary 5+) and Class 1. This change will also provide opportunity to those children who want to take admission in LKG or UKG. Earlier parents could apply only for either nursery or first class, but now the options have been expanded.
Application Process and Lottery System
The online application process for admission under RTE will start from 20th February. The lottery will be held on March 6 after the last date of application. Children will be selected through a lottery system, so that the entire process remains transparent and fair. The child whose name appears in the lottery will be allotted a school as per the prescribed rules. The government has also clarified the age limit for each class. Which includes Nursery 3 to 4 years, LKG 4 to 5 years, UKG 5 to 6 years or First Class 6 to 7 years. This will make it easier for parents to understand which class their child can apply for.
What is the new rule of seats?
The government has also released a new formula for determining seats. According to this, seats will be decided in schools on the basis of the average of admissions of the last three years. Out of the total seats, 25 percent seats will be reserved for free admission under RTE. If children already studying in a class have been promoted to the next class, then new admissions will be made on the remaining seats only. With this arrangement, proper and balanced utilization of seats will be possible.
You will also get benefit from vacant seats
It often happened that some children left school midway after taking admission in nursery. Seats remained vacant in the classes beyond this. Now under the new rule, admission can be given on these vacant seats also through RTE. This means that more and more children will get the benefit of free education and no seat will remain vacant.
