The second phase of the Special Intensive Review (SIR) campaign has started in Rajasthan from today (4 November). The objective of this campaign is to make the voter list of the state more accurate, transparent and updated. The Election Commission of India has started this program across the country, in which the campaign will run in 12 states and union territories including Rajasthan. This campaign will run till 7 February 2026 and the final voter list will be published on the same day.

More than 52 thousand BLOs in the field

52,469 booth level officers have been deployed for this campaign in the state. These officers will go door-to-door and collect information about voters. According to the current voter list of the state, 5 crore 48 lakh 84 thousand 827 voters are registered.

Of these, about 2.61 crore voters are above 40 years of age, whose mapping has been completed to the extent of 77 percent. At the same time, 2.88 crore voters are below 40 years of age, whose work is still going on.

How long will the campaign last?

In Rajasthan, from November 4 to December 4, 2025, BLOs will go door-to-door and distribute and collect enumeration forms. After this, the draft voter list will be published on 9 December 2025. Claims and objections will be taken from 9 December 2025 to 8 January 2026, that is, during this time any citizen can apply to add or make corrections in his/her name.

Hearing and verification work will take place from 9 December to 31 January 2026. And finally the final voter list will be released on 7 February 2026.

What is SIR campaign and why is it important?

SIR i.e. Special Intensive Revision means special intensive revision of the voter list. Under this campaign, voters’ information is updated so that no eligible voter is left out and names of deceased or transferred people are removed from the list.

This time in Rajasthan, the State Election Commission has made complete preparations. BLO i.e. Booth Level Officer will go door-to-door and distribute the Enumeration Form and get it filled.

This time the Election Commission has made the calculation form very easy. Now this will be a single page form in which some basic information of the voter will be pre-filled. Such as name, EPIC number (Voter ID number), address, part and serial number, and even the photo of the voter will be pre-printed.

The voter will have to fill only some information. Date of birth, Aadhaar number (optional), name of father, mother or guardian, mobile number and a passport size color photograph will have to be pasted.

Created help desk system

For the convenience of the voters, the Election Commission has also created a volunteer and help desk system so that no one faces any problem in filling the information or form. Also, voter list and related information can also be seen on the website of Election Commission of India voters.eci.gov.in or the website of Chief Electoral Officer of Rajasthan election.rajasthan.gov.in.
