Rainfall continues in Rajasthan. Except for three districts, alert for heavy rain has also been issued in the entire state today (30 July). A red alert of heavy rains has been issued in Kota, Bundi, Baran, Pratapgarh, Chittorgarh and Jhalawar.

At the same time, except Jaisalmer, Barmer and Bikaner, there is a yellow alert in the rest of Rajasthan. School colleges will be closed today in view of the possibility of rain in 18 districts of the state. Due to rain and floods, accidents are happening in all places and life is completely affected.

Highway closed to Madhya Pradesh

Sawai Madhopur has been raining torrential for the last two days. Life is disturbed due to rain. The highway going to Madhya Pradesh has been closed due to rain and floods. Many areas are filled with 3 to 4 feet of water.

At the same time, the continuous torrential rains in Baran district have completely disturbed life. Due to heavy rains for the last two-three days, flood-like conditions have been created in urban and rural areas of the district.

Many places have lost contact with the district headquarters, the roads have been submerged and the markets are flooded. In view of the situation, the district administration has declared a holiday in schools till August 2.

Markets and intersections submerged, shops submerged

The major intersections and markets of Baran city have been flooded. Water has accumulated up to three feet on the roads, which entered the shops in the low -lying areas. Traders have suffered a lot. In many places the water is flowing so fast that it has become difficult to walk.

Rivers and ponds on boom, culverts broken, road closed

The three major rivers of the district Kalisindh, Parvati and Parvan are flowing above the danger mark. 18 small and big dams, rivers and ponds are in spate. The culvert on many paths has either been washed away or damaged, due to which the traffic is completely stalled. The highway has been closed due to three feet of water flowing on NH-27 in Shahabad region and long queues of vehicles have been set up.

Rural areas are badly affected, power failure

Farm ponds have been built in rural areas. The surrounding areas have been in darkness for two days due to the water filling in the power grid station of Samranians. In Kelwara and many settlements, water has entered the houses, causing the food and drink of dozens of families.

Administration on alert, relief work started

All departments have been alerted under the direction of District Collector Rohitashv Singh Tomar. Relief and rescue work has started in the affected areas. ADM Shahabad Jabar Singh, who visited Biloda Mamli village, took stock of the situation. At the same time, the border villages are being evacuated in view of the possibility of breakdown of Kalora pond in Madhya Pradesh.

Appeal has been made by the administration that people should not go out unnecessarily during heavy rains and be cautious. The district administration has started a system of living, eating and ration for the affected people.

The situation in Baran is currently serious and the administration is completely in alert mode. Teams have been deployed to deal with any disaster due to heavy rains.
