Rajeev shukla on Virat and Rohit Odie Retirement: After winning the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli suddenly took the decision which was not expected by any cricket fan. Along with lifting the trophy of the World Cup, Rohit and Virat announced his retirement from T20 format. After this, after Team India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit Sharma also took retirement from Test cricket on 7 May. At the same time, five days later, on May 12, Virat Kohli also announced his retirement from Test format.

Rajiv Shukla’s big statement on Virat-Rohit

In this, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla was asked whether Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would get such a Farewell as Sachin Tendulkar. In response to this question, Rajiv Shukla said when he has retired. ‘Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are playing ODIs right now’.
Rajiv Shukla further said that ‘A BCCI policy is quite clear, we do not say to a player that you retire, the player has to take his own decision and whatever decision he takes, we respect him’.
Rajiv Shukla was told that whenever Rohit and Virat retirement, then the BCCI gave them a good Farewell. On this, Rajiv Shukla said that ‘the bridge will come, only then we will not tell how to cross. Rajiv Shukla said that Virat is very fit, Rohit plays very well, why are you getting upset for Farewell from now ‘. Rajiv Shukla made it clear from his point that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not yet retiring from ODI cricket.
