Rajya Sabha elections are to be held on five seats in Bihar. The last date for nomination is March 5. Meanwhile, the biggest thing is who will get the chance? Will the sitting MPs be re-sent to these seats? There are many such questions. One of these five seats is the seat of Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha. Kushwaha went to Delhi last Monday (March 02, 2026) and met top BJP leaders.
According to the information, on Monday night Upendra Kushwaha met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President Nitin Naveen. Rajya Sabha seat was discussed in the meeting. Along with this, talks were also held regarding the political developments in Bihar. If sources are to be believed, Upendra Kushwaha can be sent to Rajya Sabha again. He may get a seat in NDA for Rajya Sabha.

There is also discussion of merger of the party with BJP
Let us tell you that out of the five Rajya Sabha seats falling vacant from Bihar this time, the victory of NDA candidates is certain on four. There is a fight on the fifth. Kushwaha has gone to Rajya Sabha from BJP quota. On one hand, BJP can again send him to Rajya Sabha from its quota, on the other hand, there is a strong discussion about merger of Rashtriya Lok Morcha with BJP. Now it remains to be seen what comes out of the merger. At present there has been no reaction from Rashtriya Lok Morcha or BJP on this.
The magic figure of 41 MLAs is required for one seat in Rajya Sabha. The number of MLAs of Upendra Kushwaha’s party in Bihar is four. In such a situation, if he has to go to Rajya Sabha, he will have to depend on the other party. It remains to be seen whether Kushwaha files nomination on the 5th or not.
