How can RJD win a Rajya Sabha seat?
RJD has made AD Singh its candidate for Rajya Sabha elections. Grand alliance has a total of 35 MLAs including 25 from RJD. To win one seat in Rajya Sabha elections, 41 MLAs are needed. Owaisi’s party AIMIM has five MLAs while BSP has one MLA. For RJD to win a seat in Rajya Sabha, it is necessary to get the support of these 6 MLAs. In such a situation, Tejashwi Yadav’s meeting with Akhtarul Iman is being considered a part of the same strategy.
On the other hand, NDA has a majority of 202 MLAs in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. However, to win all the 5 seats of Rajya Sabha, this alliance will need three more votes.
