British police have made a special appeal to the people after the rape of a 20-year-old woman in Northern England. Police have said that if anyone sees the accused anywhere then they should inform him. The accused person is believed to be from England. The important thing is that the victim is of Indian origin. According to ‘West Midlands Police’, they received a report of a woman in distress on the road in the Park Hall area of Walsall on Saturday evening (25 October). Releasing CCTV footage of the suspect, the police said that the crime is being treated as a racial attack.
According to PTI report, ‘Detective Superintendent’ (DS) Ronan Tyrer, who is investigating the case, said, “This was a very horrific attack on the young woman. We are making every possible effort to catch the culprit. Our team is collecting evidence and working to identify the accused, so that he can be taken into custody soon.
Police made special appeal to the people
Police appealed to the people that if anyone had seen any suspicious person in the area at that time or has any CCTV footage, then they should share the information. According to the police, the attacker is around 30 years old, is a white male, has short hair and was wearing black clothes at the time of the attack.
Local communities say that the victim is a woman of Indian origin. This incident has come to light at a time when a few weeks ago, an incident of a British Sikh woman being raped because of her ‘race’ was also reported in the nearby Oldbury area. DS Tyrer said that at present the two cases have not been linked.
The accused committed the crime by breaking the door
Chief Superintendent Phil Dolby of Walsall Police said there was a feeling of fear and anxiety in the community, so there would be an increased police presence in the area. ‘Sikh Federation UK’ said that the victim from Walsall is a Punjabi woman and the accused committed the crime by breaking the door of her house.
