Rashid Khan created history in the T20 World Cup 2026 and set a world record. Afghanistan’s Rashid became the first bowler in the history of T20 cricket to take 700 wickets. The 28th league match of the T20 World Cup was played between Afghanistan and UAE on Monday (16 February). In the match, Rashid touched the mark of 700 wickets when he took the wicket of UAE’s Muhammad Arfan.

Before this match, Rashid had taken 699 wickets in T20 cricket. Then in the match against UAE, Rashid did wonders by dismissing Arfan in the 16th over. Rashid took only one wicket in the match. In the list of players taking the most wickets in the format, West Indies’ Dwayne Bravo is at second position with 631 wickets.
