Royal Challengers Bangalore have won the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026) by defeating Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets. In this match played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Delhi Capitals had scored 166 runs while playing first. In reply, RCB won with 10 balls remaining.

Delhi Capitals team batted first. Opener Shefali Verma played a half-century inning of 62 runs. Apart from her, Lucy Hamilton played a stormy inning of 36 runs and helped Delhi reach the score of 166.

Smriti Mandhana missed out on creating history

Royal Challengers Bangalore had the target of 167 runs. RCB opener Grace Harris was out after scoring only one run, but Smriti Mandhana played an inning of 96 runs in 61 balls. Had she scored 4 more runs, she would have become the first batsman to score a century in the Women’s Premier League history. Currently, the record of making the highest individual score in WPL is in the name of Sophie Devine. He played an inning of 99 runs while playing for Gujarat Giants.

For RCB, Georgia Wall scored unbeaten 54 runs and made a partnership of 142 runs with Smriti Mandhana. Earlier, Lauren Bell and Sayali Satghare had taken three wickets each in bowling for RCB.

RCB on top of points table

Royal Challengers Bangalore has won all four of its matches so far in WPL 2026 and the Bengaluru team is at the top of the table with 8 points. Mumbai Indians are at second place with 4 points and Gujarat Giants at third place also have 4 points. UP Warriors is in fourth place and has also collected 4 points. Whereas Delhi Capitals has been able to register only one win in 4 matches so far. Delhi currently has only 2 points and is currently at the bottom of the points table.
