In the ninth match of the ongoing edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026), Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Gujarat Giants by 32 runs. The RCB team captained by Smriti Mandhana registered its third consecutive win. Spinner Shreyanka Patil playing for RCB took 5 wickets. While chasing the target of 183 runs, Gujarat team collapsed for 150 runs.
While chasing the target of 183 given by RCB, Gujarat Giants’ first wicket fell at the score of 34. Arundhati Reddy caught Sophie Devine (8) on her own ball and sent her to the pavilion. Beth Mooney was also out in the very next over, she scored 27 runs in 14 balls. This was Shreyanka Patil’s first wicket in the match. The third wicket fell in the form of captain Ash Gardner, he could score only 3 runs.

Shreyanka took her second wicket in the form of Kanika Ahuja, Kanika was out LBW. Gujarat’s fifth wicket in the form of Georgia Wareham (13) fell at the score of 70. After this he made Kashvi Gautam (18), Tanuja Kanwar (21) and Renuka Singh (2) his victims. He took 5 wickets for 23 runs in 3.5 overs.
Apart from Patil, Lauren Bell took 3 wickets, he dismissed Ash Gardner, Bharti Phulmali and Shivani Singh. Lauren gave 29 runs in 4 overs. Bharti scored the most runs for Gujarat Giants, she scored 39 runs in 20 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 3 fours.
Radha Yadav scored a half century
Earlier, Gujarat Giants had won the toss and decided to bowl first. RCB’s top order flopped, after Grace Harris (17), Smriti Mandhana (5), Dayalan Hemlata (4) and Gautam Naik (9) also got out cheaply. After 4 wickets fell at 43, Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh not only handled the innings but also thrashed the bowlers. Radha scored 66 runs in 47 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 6 fours. Richa scored 44 runs in 28 balls, in which she hit 2 sixes and as many fours. Batting first, RCB scored 182 runs for 7 wickets.
This is the third consecutive win for Royal Challengers Bangalore in this edition. The team had defeated Mumbai Indians by 3 wickets in the first match of the tournament. After this the team defeated UP Warriors by 9 wickets. After defeating Gujarat by 32 runs, RCB is at the first position in the points table.
