State Bank of India (SBI) has given great news for the youth preparing to make a career in the banking sector. SBI has released the official notification of Circle Based Officer i.e. CBO Recruitment 2026. Under this recruitment drive, a total of 2,050 posts will be filled in different circles across the country. The notification has been issued on 28 January 2026, while the online application process is starting from 29 January 2026. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the official website of SBI, sbi.bank.in till 18 February 2026.
This recruitment of SBI is a golden opportunity for those candidates who have graduate degree and experience of working in banking sector and are looking for officer level job. The bank has made it clear that applications will be accepted only through online mode. Applications sent in any other way will not be valid.
Recruitment will be done on 2050 posts
Under this recruitment, a total of 2,050 posts will be filled in major circles of the country. These include circles like Amravati, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Maharashtra, Mumbai Metro, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. The distribution of all the posts has been decided for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section and General Category, so that candidates of every category get equal opportunity.
Who can apply
Candidates applying for SBI CBO post must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Apart from this, candidates having professional degree like Engineering, Medical, Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant are also eligible for this recruitment.
Along with educational qualification, it is mandatory for the candidate to have at least two years of work experience in an officer post in any bank. Candidates without experience will not be able to apply for this recruitment.
what is the age limit
The age of the candidate should be minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 31 December 2025. Whereas Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer), physically handicapped candidates and ex-servicemen will be given age relaxation as per the government rules.
How much salary and facilities will you get?
Candidates selected for the post of SBI CBO will initially get a basic salary of Rs 48,480. Along with this, two advance increments will also be given by the bank at the time of appointment.
Apart from the basic salary, officers will also get many facilities, which include dearness allowance, house rent allowance or lease facility, city allowance, provident fund, national pension scheme, leave travel allowance, medical facilities and other banking benefits. Overall, this job is considered quite attractive in terms of both salary and facilities.
How will the selection process happen?
The selection process of SBI CBO Recruitment 2026 will be completed in several stages. First of all the candidates will have to give written examination. After this the successful candidates will be called for interview.
There will be a local language test after the interview to ensure that the candidate is able to understand and speak the language of that circle. After this there will be document verification and medical examination. Only the candidates who are successful in all the stages will be finalized.
How much application fee will have to be paid
General, OBC and EWS category candidates will have to pay Rs 750 as application fee. Whereas Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and physically handicapped candidates have been completely exempted from the application fee. Fees will be paid through online mode only.
