Big news has come from Chandigarh for those who dream of becoming a teacher. Composite Education, Chandigarh has released the official notification for recruitment to 218 posts of JBT. If you have a passion to teach children and are looking for a government job, then this is a great opportunity for you.
According to the notification issued, 111 posts for general category candidates, 44 posts for OBC category, 41 posts for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 22 posts for economically weaker section (EWS) are reserved. The application process for these posts has started from today. Interested candidates can apply online till 28 August 2025, while the last date for submission of application fee has been fixed on 30 August 2025. To apply, candidates have to visit the official website of overall education, Chandigarh.

To apply for these posts, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in India. Also, it is necessary to complete the course of D.L.Ed.. Apart from this, candidates will have to pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
Talking about the age limit, on 1 January 2025, the minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and the maximum age should be 37 years. Candidates of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBC, EWS and Divyang class will be given a maximum age limit as per the rules of the government.
How much salary?
Selected candidates will be given a salary of Rs 45,260 per month, which is considered a stable and attractive package at the initial level.
Selection process
Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination. A total of 150 multiple choice questions will be asked in this examination, which will be of 150 marks. The question paper will include topics like general awareness, region, numerical ability, teaching aptitude, mathematics, general science and social science.
The duration of the examination is kept 2 hours 30 minutes. The thing to note is that one-fourth (4) marks will be deducted on the wrong answer, that is, negative marking will be applicable in it. Therefore, the candidates will have to answer thoughtfully in the examination.
